Oracle instance terminate with ORA-27061: waiting for async I/Os failed

After migrating DB to new server (SuSE 11, Kernel 2.6.32.12-0.7), database was not able to create archive logs & crashing.

Sysadmin confirmed that, there are no hardware issues.

Then after searching for this error on metalink, found a
BUG:5609038 - WARNING:ORACLE PROCESS RUNNING OUT OF OS KERNEL IO
RESOURCES ORA-19502 ORA-27061 (Metalink Note ID 396057.1)

Later I changed filesystemio_options parameter to none and then database could  create archive logs.

As per the note, this is a SuSE 9/10 bug. But same behaviour is seen in SuSE 11.
