OCI-21500: internal error code, arguments: [koxsihread1]

While upgrading the database from 8i to 10g, I faced following error

OCI-21500: internal error code, arguments: [koxsihread1], [0], [0], [4], [], [], [], []

Cause

The commands “set serveroutput on / off” in the following scripts

prvtpb.plb
catproc.sql
c1001000.sql
cmpdbmig.sql
utlusts.sql
a0801070.sql

Solution

Comment “set serveroutput on / off” in above scripts & execute the script again

Instead, it’s easier to just use DBUA. I was able to do it all FASTER and cleaner with DBUA than running the scripts manually. Yes, I understand in some cases you cannot do a GUI but I will start using DBUA more for that now.

    Hello Jim,

To be honest, I never tried using DBUA. But yes, it’s definitely worth trying instead of changing the files.

Only concern is remote upgrade. Normally, if I’m working remotely I’ll still prefer manual upgrade.

    Cheers
