Types of service configurations in RAC

a. Active/Spare – Failover capability for all services in A + B redundancy model. Where A is number of instances, B is a spare instance

b. Active/Symmetric – All nodes provide same set of services. Services active on all nodes

c. Active/Asymmetric – Active on some nodes, but capability to failover on any node

NOTE: Maximum number of services per database = 64 ( 62 Application services + 2 Internal)
