ohasd failed to start: A specified file does not support the ioctl system call

While running root.sh for Oracle RAC 11gR2, it failed with following error stack.

Problem:
root.sh fails with the following error:
CRS-4124: Oracle High Availability Services startup failed.
CRS-4000: Command Start failed, or completed with errors.
ohasd failed to start: A specified file does not support the ioctl system call.
ohasd failed to start at /oracle/product/11.2.0/gridhome/crs/install/rootcrs.pl line 451.

Solution is to cleanup following directories:

/etc/oracle (replace it with platform specific location)
/var/tmp/.oracle
/tmp/.oracle

I have the exact same problem as described here, my OS is AIX 6.1, can you be more specific for the solution? as /etc/oracle has lots of ocr related files, i don’t want to take the risk to clean it up.

    Thanks.

i deleted all of the mentioned directories and rerun the root.sh, still got the same error.
